Waterford parents bring campaign for special school places to the Dáil – ‘No child should be left behind’

Parents from all over Waterford, led by Rebecca Meehan, travelled to Leinster house on Tuesday, February 18, demanding an urgent increase of capacity at St John’s Special School in Dungarvan.

The group, representing over 20 families in Dungarvan, included Ms Meehan, Danielle Cleary, Nicola Sheridan, Denise Threadgold, Melissa Wall, Brian Wall, Darren Hennessy, and Kevin O’Sullivan, all of whom are fighting for new autism spectrum disorder (ASD) class openings in Waterford, along with some requiring one-to-one special school setting places for their children.
